max@listenbrain.app

There is no portal, no ticket number and no first line. Listen is made by one person at Jacaranda Labs, which is worth knowing before you buy something whose whole promise is that nobody else can read your conversations. The cost of that is that a reply takes as long as it takes.

What to send, and what not to

Never send a recording, a transcript or a note. We cannot help with the contents of your library and we do not want a copy of it. If something went wrong with a particular conversation, describe it: how long it was, how many people, which app the call was in, what you expected and what happened instead.

What does help:

If a recording failed, LISTEN_DEBUG=1 makes the app trace what capture is doing to standard error. Run /Applications/Listen.app/Contents/MacOS/Listen from Terminal with that set, reproduce the problem, and send the lines it printed. They describe devices and state changes, not what anybody said.

Before you write

Two things account for most of what people report:

If Listen will not start at all on a Mac bought before late 2020, it is an Intel machine and there is no version that would work.

Security

Report anything that looks like a vulnerability to security@listenbrain.app. Please do not open it publicly first. There is no bounty programme and saying so is more useful than implying one.
